Allewerelt is a family enterprise founded in 1954 and managed until 1983 by Marcel Allewerelt.  His wife Marie Arnoys took over the management of the company with the help of her 2 sons Edmond and Gilbert Allewerelt.
In 1994 the company moved to the new location on the harbor of Nieuwpoort.
Following the family tradition, the founder's grandson joined already the company.
